What You Need:

  • Proof of Identity: For in-person voting, you may need a form of ID like a passport or driving license.

  • Polling Card: Sent to you after registration, this tells you where and when to vote.

  • National Insurance Number: Needed for registering to vote.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

  • Ensure you’re 18 or over on election day.

  • Confirm you are a British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of the European Union residing in the UK.

Step 2: Register to Vote

  • Online: Visit the UK Government’s voter registration page and complete the form. You’ll need your National Insurance number.
